Overnight Oats (aka Muesli)

1 serving

Ingredients

Mason jar or any container with a sealed lid

1/2 cup oatmeal

Add any of the following:

Fresh fruit: berries, diced apple, sliced banana

Dried fruit: raisins*, diced peaches, figs or apricots

Chopped raw nuts [my favorites are walnuts or sunflower seeds]

Unsweetened coconut

Dash of salt, optional

1 tbsp agave, honey or sweetener of your choice [optional, I enjoy without sweetener, your taste will adapt!]

Cover with milk [I use unsweetened almond milk, but experiment to find your favorite]

*Use organic when possible

Directions

Put all ingredients into the jar or container.  After covering with milk/non-dairy milk, stir or turn the jar to mix ingredients and get the milk to surround the oats.  

Place in fridge overnight.  Enjoy a ready made breakfast!


Notes

This is a very forgiving meal.  Experiment to see what you like.  It's also fun because you can create different experiences for each family member!
